As former colleagues who used to work in the finance sector as agribusiness intelligence specialists , when Covid happened, we realized how important the agricultural sector is and how little it's links to most sectors and our everyday lives were understood! So what do you do when in lockdown, you start a business, of course!

Meet Conce Moraba | Agricultural Economist | Agri-Tech Enthusiast | Passionate Story Teller
Born and raised in Lydenburg, Mpumalanga, my journey with agriculture began long before I understood it as a career. I grew up watching my parents turn our home into a living classroom of soil and seeds. My mom’s backyard mielie patches and my dad’s sprawling orchards—bursting with peaches, avocados, apples, and grapes—taught me early that farming isn’t just work; it’s a way of life. Today, I’m proud to carry that legacy forward as an agricultural economist with over a decade of experience in agribusiness banking and the fast-evolving agri-tech & chemical sector.
By day, I dive deep into data—analyzing market trends, policy shifts, and price movements that shape South Africa’s agricultural landscape. By night (and weekends!), I’m a mom to two energetic kids and a partner to my incredibly supportive husband. For me, agriculture is where passion meets purpose: it’s the perfect blend of my love for nature’s rhythms and the thrill of turning numbers into meaningful stories.
What excites me most? Breaking down complex ideas into bite-sized insights that empower farmers, food producers, and everyday enthusiasts like you. Karabo Mabuza is passionate about all things agriculture—from farm to fork! With a Masters in Sustainable Agriculture (Cum Laude) and years of experience as a Senior Agricultural Economist, she’s dedicated to making farming smarter, sustainable, and impactful.
When she’s not crunching numbers or writing thought-leadership pieces on agriculture, Karabo loves traveling, enjoying good music, and spending quality time with her family.
